Field induced electron emission from graphene nanostructures

Abstract Electric fields play a crucial role in modulating the electronic properties of nanoscale materials. Electron emission, induced by an electric field, is representative phenomenon. Experimental and theoretical aspects such electron emission from graphene are briefly reviewed. The occurs at edge flakes, not surface, because highly concentrates field. Emission currents sensitive to shapes functionalization. This review provides guiding principles for designing high-efficiency field-emission devices using nanostructures.
